Depends on what you wana do with em and what kind of performance you wana have. Electric is always gona be cheaper and easier to maintain but you wont get anywhere near the speed of a nitro or gasoline powered car. Nitro’s can go ALOT faster but they cost more, they are harder to build and there is more to maintain on them, air cleaners, glo-plugs, etc… Go down to your local hobby shop and talk to someone there. Discuss how and where you will be using the car and how much money you would like to be spending. They should be able to point you in the right direction.

    Hi

As a beginner my advice would be to keep it simple and keep the costs as low as possible until you feel confident enough to tackle more advanced models.

Therefore my answer would be to go for an electric RC car to start of with.

    Have Fun!

I would start with an electric. Less maintenance and these days they are still pretty fast. Upgrade to a gas later down the road. I deal in Radio Controlled Boats and tell beginners the same thing. If you don’t have a problem tinkering and tuning then gas/nitro could be an option. See if you can test one out at a local hobby shop.

    Cheers,
    Andrew
